Spring 2025 Graduation Ceremony
We look forward to celebrating the College of Science graduating class of Spring 2025 on Friday, May 16 at 2:00 p.m. at McKale Center on the University of Arizona campus! We will share additional details about the ceremony in the weeks to come.
Students, if you expect to graduate this semester, be sure to check in with your academic advisor regularly and keep an eye out for important emails sent to your student email account.
Applying for Graduation or Filing for Degree Candidacy
Important: For undergraduate students, graduation from the University of Arizona requires a degree audit (also known as a degree check) in order to award a diploma, and there is a $50 candidacy fee involved. Students are strongly urged to begin this process and file for degree candidacy before registering for the last semester of course work, but not more than 1 year before the planned graduation date. Visit the UA Office of the Registrar website for more information.
- Students graduating in December (fall) or January (winter) must file for degree candidacy by September 1st.
- Students graduating in May (spring) for August (summer) must file for degree candidacy by February 1st.
To file for degree candidacy, students in the College of Science must begin the process with their major advisor. MATH majors should email the Math Center to get started with their degree candidacy process at mathcenter@math.arizona.edu.
Late fees of $50 will also apply to students who file after the deadline.

You will be seated with your department. An usher will signal your department to line up at the right of the stage. Undergraduates will line up first, followed by Master's students, then by PhD's. You will hand your card to the person wearing the headphones at the top of the ramp leading to the stage. They will hand it back to you, and then you move forward and hand it to the name reader. Don't worry - it's very easy and goes very fast once you see it done the first time.
