Professional Development

The University of Arizona College of Science offers a variety of courses for teachers, from a marine biology course, to a class on recombinant DNA techniques, and even a research experience in the Galapagos Islands!

Many courses emphasize laboratory and research experiences and focus on translating the experience to teachable classroom activities. Some courses are available as part of a formal degree program, such as the Masters in General Biology for Secondary School Teachers.

This program makes it possible to earn a master's degree in biology during summer breaks.

A many research lab internships and courses are available for teachers independent of a formal degree program.
