Transfer and AP Credit
Transfer Credit from Community Colleges and Other Universities
Students who plan to transfer credit taken at a college or university should contact the Advising Office in the College of Science (520-621-8128) to determine which courses will transfer into the major and which courses can be used for General Education requirements.
Advanced Placement (AP) Program
The University of Arizona offers a strong Advanced Placement (AP) credit program. AP classes are offered in select high schools. Exams are administered through the College Board each May. Some students take AP exams after taking honors or accelerated courses in their schools. Grades are usually reported to the University during the month of July.
AP exam scores could count for credit at the University of Arizona depending on the score you earn and may also count toward your major or minor fields of study or General Education requirements. See the AP Credit Table below and contact a College of Science Academic Advisor to confirm course credit equivalency.
