Workshops and Conferences
SAMEC coordinates efforts in support of science and mathematics education across all units at the University of Arizona, and serves as the liaison between the University and the K-12 community in science and mathematics education. Teacher workshops and conferences are offered by a variety of departments and advertised through the Science and Mathematics Education Center.

Destination Mars/Gamma Ray Spectrometer
DESTINATION: MARS is an exciting and interactive Mars exhibit. Teacher workshops illustrate several field-tested space science activities on the solar system and Mars for use in elementary and middle school classrooms.

The Nature of Light Teacher Workshop offers teachers the opportunity to explore planetary phenomena using the Hubble Space Telescope.
Project ASTRO Tucson Astronomers & Teachers as Partners for Learning
Project ASTRO matches astronomers with Tucson area teachers and community educators who want to enrich their astronomy and science teaching.

The Science and Mathematics Center features an online monthly calendar of courses, workshops and conferences for teachers taking place at the University of Arizona.
Solar Science Workshop
This workshop provides a venue for discussion and inquiry to help explain seasonal changes including temperature and length of daylight.
Science Teachers Colloquium Series
Colloquiums include a formal presentation on a topic of current research and an informal discussion session.
TLRBSE Teacher Leaders in Research Based Science Education
Middle and high school science teachers are provided training in astronomy content, research pedagogy, and leadership skills through a combination of in-residence workshops at Kitt Peak National Observatory and the National Solar Observatory.
