Workshops and Conferences

SAMEC coordinates efforts in support of science and mathematics education across all units at the University of Arizona, and serves as the liaison between the University and the K-12 community in science and mathematics education. Teacher workshops and conferences are offered by a variety of departments and advertised through the Science and Mathematics Education Center.

Mathematics Educators Appreciation Day (MEAD)
The MEAD conference is held at the UA in late January for teachers of Mathemations. A day of workshops, discussions, and networking for teachers of mathematics. Free.

Nature of Light Teacher Workshop

The Nature of Light Teacher Workshop offers teachers the opportunity to explore planetary phenomena using the Hubble Space Telescope.

Project ASTRO Tucson Astronomers & Teachers as Partners for Learning

Project ASTRO matches astronomers with Tucson area teachers and community educators who want to enrich their astronomy and science teaching.
