Chemistry
Traditional boundaries between the physical sciences, the life sciences, and engineering are less distinct today. Chemistry permeates all of the major technical disciplines, from physics through materials science and cellular biology, occupying a central role in every area of our increasingly technological society. Department of Chemistry faculty pursue research in cross-disciplinary areas such as chemistry of the life sciences, materials chemistry and space chemistry. Our students are exposed to the breadth of experience necessary to prepare them to be leaders in chemical sciences in the 21st century.
