Major & Minior
Major: Neuroscience and Cognitive Science
Minors: Spanish, Biochemistry, and Emergency Medical Services

Hometown
Phoenix, AZ

How’d you choose your major/minor?
I find fulfillment through service for others. My extraverted nature growing up sparked a passion to better understand the behavior of friends, family, and eventually strangers. In high school, I refined my career interests and landed on the dream of studying brain anatomy, physiology, and behavior through medical practice. After some research on which undergraduate programs would best prepare me for medical school (and eventually MD/PhD programs) while still fueling my desire to focus on neurology, I realized that the University of Arizona's Neuroscience and Cognitive Science major checked all my boxes.

What’s your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the Environmental and Natural Resources 2 Building. I come for Slot Canyon Cafe's excellent coffee and study atmosphere, but I stay for the beautiful greenery and architecture. The magic happens when it's raining; rainwater is fed from all five stories into waterfalls that land into copper rings next to the sidewalk on the ground floor. It makes for a great postcard!

What has been the highlight of your college career thus far?
I have had the invaluable opportunity to simultaneously work as President of the NSCS Association of Students and as Co-President of the NSCS Ambassadors. These platforms allow me to engage with faculty, staff, fellow student leaders, and underclassmen in lecturing, teaching, and learning roles. Coordination and delegation of the logistics necessary to create academic, social, professional, and outreach events for the major has demanded that I learn to be efficient and adaptable. These roles have taught me the difference of being a team leader and team member, and when to be which. Work ethic and creativity go a long way.
