GEMS Education Center
Flandrau Science Center maintains a collection of GEMS (Great Explorations in Math and Science) teacher guides and hands-on science kits that may be checked out by K-12 teachers in southeast Arizona. GEMS is a nationally recognized curriculum developed by the Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley. GEMS guides are clearly organized, easy to use, and do not require expertise in math or science. Popular kits include: Mystery Festival, Chemical Reactions, The Reason for Seasons, and Schoolyard Ecology. GEMS guides and kits may be checked out for a two-week period. Kits contain teacher guide and consumables.
